When You Throwback Someday
School days are usually busy, filled with every little and big event in your child's school. Summer and Christmas breaks are usually looked out for not only by the students but the parents as well. But this year's summer break, we enrolled our 2 kids to different summer programs. What was I thinking? I knew it's going to be tiring but I also knew it's going to be fun!
It wasn't as heavy loaded as the regular school days but it still requires much of your attention and time. I have to put aside work to watch my daughter dance ballet or teach my other daughter how to paint. They were also enrolled in a tutorial program and follow-ups are necessary to retain what they learned from their teachers. I'm a full time home based employee as well as a full time mom. How do I manage all of these and still keep a sane mind?
In everything that we do, there's always an end. All this chaotic schedule during summer matched with the erratic weather in the Philippines will all pass like a gust of the wind. Though there are days that I really felt drained physically, mentally, and emotionally, at the end of it all I still felt accomplished and proud of my daughters. They told me they enjoyed their classes, made new friends, loved their new teachers, and they're already looking forward to their next summer escapade! In a few weeks the school year will start again. It's great to know that aside from acquiring new knowledge and skills, they also had happy memories they can share to their classmates and friends.
